Sorry I was in an all day staff meeting, then had to leave early to go to the doctors, dermatologist. SO that they can tell me that they can't help me and that I have to go back to my PCP, so I called there and they told me to come in and they would squeeze me in. I got there at 3:40 PM and was not seen until 6:05 PM, I finally left his office @ 6:40 PM. I started off by telling him that I love him and I think he's a great doctor, but that when I get this rash cleared up I can no longer come to see him. That I was told to come in and they would squeeze me in. Then I am waiting for about an 1 1/2 hours and I get told that since I am a walk-in I have to wait till' all his other appointments are done before I can see him. I was so pissed and when the doctor came up I told him what happened. Then they finally moved me to a room where I still had to wait another 1/2 hour, I was about to leave when he came back. Then I gave him my speech. So he looked at the rash, looked at the test results from the dermatologist, he started looking it up on the computer and said that since I look rather healthy and I am not experiencing any major symptoms, AKA, if this gets worse I will start to experience liver and kidney problems going into failure, WHAT?! SO I said that he had to do something for me. So looked again and the course of treatment when it gets worse is to put you in Oral Steroids, Prednisone 5 mg, I start off taking 12 and then each day reduce it by one until they are all done. He said that this should help clear it up. But just in case this doesn't then he gave me a referral to see a rheumatologist. I am at my wits end.
So I started the meds last night and I awake to pain wrenching cramps and when I stand I immediately have to go, churls. I was on the toilet for over an hour, then again before I got in the shower. So I am here miserable at work wish I had stayed home, but feeling guilty because I left early yesterday and then never came back. So that is why I am here, I know I'm being stupid no one else here cares but you know me I want to always want to do the right thing. If the churls continue I will leave early.
So for those of you that do not know I have a condition known as, "Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis". Basically what this is, that I had contracted the strep throat, and when I finally got over it, my body was still creating the antibody that fights it and since it was not present, it turned on my skin and causes this horrible rash. I was mortified to go on vacation like that. But actually the salt water and sun helped clear it up so that it was almost gone. Then literally the day I was coming back it started to flair up again. The next morning I woke up to find it all over my legs again. I cried! So now I am on the phone with the rheumatologist, and they have hung up on me twice in 5 minutes. So I called back and asked to speak to the office manager, the girl asked why and I told her that I am a new patient trying to schedule and appointment with the doctor and that I was transferred twice and then hung up on after speaking to about 4 people. That if I can't get better help then I will go back to the referring phyician and ask to see someone else. She apologized and offered to help me herself. Thank you Alicia, so now on the 31st I go to see him, if this hasn't cleared up.
Yes this is not fiction, this is my stemming pile of a life!
